"New Model" Updates

This summer, many of us participated in pulling together information about peer roles across Massachusetts and providing individual and collective input to the Department of Mental Health (DMH) about how these roles should be represented in the ‘New Model’ contracts that will soon replace Community Based Flexible Supports (the state’s primary residential support for individuals receiving mental health services).
Since that time, we’ve all been waiting to see what impact our advocacy had on the design of the new service. Originally, the release of the Request for Response (RFR—the document DMH uses to request proposals for services from various providers) that would provide many of these answers was anticipated for September. Unfortunately, we’ve recently learned that the earliest possible date for release is now the end of October.
We will be sure to offer more information once it is out!
