Deaf Supports on Hold

We are sad to report that Val Ennis, our long-time Deaf Consultant, is moving on to a new position with a different organization.
Val started out as a volunteer with the RLC in 2007, and moved quickly into a consultant role where she has helped the community grow with American Sign Language classes, deaf community forums, and so much more.
Val’s last day will be on Wednesday, January 27th at the Holyoke Center with the deaf community forum from 3 to 5pm, so be sure to stop by and say farewell and thank you if you can!
Meanwhile, we’ve really depended on Val for much of what we’ve been able to offer in the way of deaf supports, and without her we’re going to have to put offerings like deaf drop-in hours and the deaf community forum on hold.
That said, people who are deaf or hard-of-hearing will continue to be welcome to any of our spaces, events and groups and we will always do our best to schedule interpreters when requested!
To request an interpreter for a particular time, group or event please e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call any of our spaces!
